What makes us who we are?

I’ve really been getting into making beads with many layers.I like the rich diverse relationship that each color has with the other and what happens when the two meet.I’m never quite sure what will happen when I’m finished. It is always a delight and surprise when I get to check the kiln in the morning.

I start off with and idea, an intention, but the glass has a way of doing what it wishes.Its kind of like parenting children, guiding and letting go…Finding the balance. When the balanced is achieved within the tiny glass orb…BRILLIANCE!! Beads to be proud of!! This is why I love making beads, its meditative , its like life…Beautiful and yet ever changing…Enjoy!!

Get going and get organized

I don’t know about you but every so often I have to stop the creative process and put everything in some kind of order. I recently purchased these plastic storage containers. I started pouring my beads out of plastic bags and organizing them with great delight!! Visual eye candy!!

I seem to always go back to the analogy of the sea…My Muse…the ever flowing cycle of the tide. Creating with fury and unabated energy and then the putting everything back into tiny boxes…

That leaves me with one question….

What will I do tomorrow ?

Taking the Gloves Off

I saw these great fingerless gloves this winter and had to have them. During my week of inspiration ( more like a life time of inspiration ) I took a picture of them and then used it as inspiration for a pair of earrings. I’m very happy with the results. They intentionally don’t match, another one of my favorite things to do. Look for my new inspiration pieces  at Gallery 99. The show is being held at The M Dolan Jr Building, 3 Broad St in Glens Falls NY on the 31st.  The show will run for 3 days Thursday, February 2nd thru Saturday the 4th. Some of the Gallery exhibitors including myself are Maria Wolf, Diane Swanson, Chung-Ah Park, Robin Blakney-Carlson and Jon Katz

Just keep trying

Its January already. I will try to post more. I will try to post once a week. I can do that, sure yes I can!!

This week I encountered a new phenomenon. The glass I kept adding kept breaking, not once but twice! That’s it I said ” I will NOT be defeated”.

If I can keep going, even when the glass keeps doing something other than what I imaged, I can post a comment on my web site…How can that be so difficult??

The Christmas Holiday is behind me now and I am looking forward to the New Year. What will I be inspired by in 2012?? What colors make me feel happy?? I’ve decided to play a game with myself. I will choose at least 3 things a week to take pictures of and be inspired by…
